Velji effectively handles 40-tonne consignment to Madrid via Mumbai ACC
MUMBAI, May 4

Velji Dosabhai & Sons Pvt. Ltd’s (VDSPL) Air Logistics Division, which commenced operations only very recently, successfully handled a single shipment of 40 tonnes to Madrid through the Air Cargo Complex (ACC) of Mumbai.

The cargo, which had to be brought to the ACC in 5 x 40’ trailers, was shipped through Cathay Pacific Airlines in two freighters which exclusively carried the consignment. According to the staff of Cathay Pacific, the shipment was effected against all odds and would not have been possible without the concerted efforts put in by all those involved in the operation.

Mr Natvarlal Popat, Chairman and Managing Director or VDSPL, congratulated the air operations teams of the airline and the CHA for their efforts towards this singular achievement.

Mr Prashant Popat, Director, who was present at the Cargo Complex during the entire operation, observed that an achievement of this magnitude at this early stage of the Air Logistics Division, would motivate its staff to aim for many more milestones in times to come.

VDSPL has a dedicated team in the Air Logistics Division, with a separate office and warehouse in Andheri for the exclusive handling of shipments from Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport.

Air logistics operations are currently handled by the company’s branches in Delhi and Ahmedabad. This service will soon be extended across all VDSPL branches.
